A 27 years old Nepalese student Amit Ghimire was found dead in Adelaide on 9th August 2020. He was originally from Lalitpur, Nepal, and landed in Sydney, Australia in 2015 in a student visa and moved to Adelaide in 2018.
On Sunday he was found dead in his garage as reported by Adelaide police. According to his friends, it is doubted that it was suicide. His body has sent for post-mortem for further investigation about the dead case. He was very active in social media and has been helping many Nepalese across the globe to put a smile on his Facebook page (Troll Nepal).
A Consulate General Dhamala stated that after contacting Amit’s family, we are planning to send his body to Nepal. His family in Nepal has requested NRNA Australia to repatriate his body which estimated cost for repatriation is between 10k to 15k.
NRNA President Nabin Pant said,” We would appreciate your support to send late Mr. Ghimire back home allowing his family and friends to do the rituals and bid the final goodbye.”
Amit Bajracharya, Aayush Mani Dahal, and Bishagya Ghimire, friends of Ghimire, created a Facebook fundraiser using Amit Bajracharya’s Facebook. NRNA Australia will continue the fundraising on the same platform and the amount will be transferred to NRNA Australia account as per consent given by the family for repatriation of Ghimire. The remaining amount will be transferred to his family respectively.
