Australia Nepal Repatriation Flight OD172 – Time Changed to 5:15 PM, 30 July 2020 AEST

To all Nepalese nationals who are willing to travel back to Nepal during this pandemic.

On 30th July 2020 at 5:15 pm, with the coordination of NRNA Australia, Nepal Embassy and group of media, a repatriation flight is scheduled to Nepal via Malindo Airlines from Sydney, NSW.

This flight is fully chartered with 160 passenger capacity, 148 seats for economy class and 12 seats for business class. The ticket price for economy class is 1120 US dollar and 1600 US dollar for business class. When received overwhelming responses and availability of limited seats they have taken mixed approach of compassionate case, interstate inclusion and first come first serve during the seat allocation. There are 350 applicants who have already paid their airfare, among them 190 people couldn’t get accommodated this time due to seat limits.

According to NRNA spokesperson Mr. Nanda Gurung , “This 190 people will be given first priority for next chartered flight.” He added “If they are unable to make next flight, then the ticket fare will be refunded to the respective person.”

To those who are prepared to fly, please ensure you have PCR result before the flight, NO PCR NO BOARDING. It is highly recommended to follow the health advice given by ANMDA (visit to ANMDA Facebook page for more details). Now, Tribhuvan International Airport has new landing regulations requiring flights to land before 06:00PM, KTM time.

According to NRNA President Mr. Keshav Kandel, it will be difficult to reach airport at 3 am in the morning so they have to make this changes in flight timing. Hence, the flight from Sydney is at 5:15 PM in the afternoon and will land at 6:15 am (Nepal time) at T.I.A airport. The flight will transit through Indonesia and stop in Malaysia for 4 hours. However, the travelers will directly land at T.I.A airport. Please ensure you arrive 4 hours before departure time to ease the check-in and boarding process.

If you are travelling from interstate, plan your trip accordingly. Your allowable baggage weight is 30 + 7 KG.  Repatriation Flights and Quarantine rule in Nepal

There are strict quarantine guidelines in Nepal for those going back to Nepal on the upcoming repatriation flights.

1. You are required to attend PCR test with negative result within 7 days.

2. You must fulfill some administrative requirements in holding center after landing in Nepal which may take 4 hours or even more.

3. Your Municipalities authorities will then decide where you will spend 14 days mandatory self-isolation, some may have to spend few days in the holding center due to administrative issues.
