Graeme Baje Kent continues to volunteer his time with Aussie Action Abroad as they continue to support Nepali communities in need from afar.
As groups are not able to travel Baje, with the Aussie Action Abroad Board, have embarked on fundraising projects to see that partner communities and agencies are supported as best they can.
“ We are only a small charity, but we continue to make a difference and aim to ensure that our families feel connected, supported and not forgotten. We would like to do more at this time because of floods and earthquakes are having devastating impact on our villages and if we have further resources we could assist more at this time” said Baje.
However in a short space of time Aussie Action Abroad has
- Raised over $8000 through a GOFUNDME and a direct debit fundraising campaign and this has been used to provide food for 3-4 weeks for over 500 people
- Provided food for 2 children’s homes – Motherland Women’s Society in Ranibari Chowk Kathmandu and Maya Ghar in Kirtipur
- Given food to families with deaf association
- Provided rice and oil to 130 families in Itpare, Rasuwa district
- Enabled 150 families in Lamjung district to have rice, lentils and soya beans
Whilst our funds have been raised from friends, colleagues and partners here in Australia, the delivery of the project and the distribution can only be successful and Aussie Action Abroad thanks their partners –

This campaign has been quick, effective and responsive in supporting people facing challenges each day and it a small contribution we can make to assist them through this time.
The Aussie Action Abroad board encourages others to join with them to enable more projects to be sustained as there will be more issues in the future that require financial support.
Aussie Action Abroad will take teams of volunteers when international travel is again realistically provided but until then they will continue to support community from afar.
Graeme baje has spent the last 20 years facilitating groups of volunteers to providing community development experiences that work closely with Nepali communities to provide health education, school resources and teacher training and construction of community facilities.
